Garmin launches a new beta build for the Fenix 7 and other smartwatches with improvements for all except the Pro models

In short, Garmin says that beta 17.26 fixed an outstanding bug that prevented suggested daily workouts from working as intended. The company has now released beta 17.28; Garmin has not publicly distributed the intermediate build between v17.26 and v17.28. Note that beta 17.28 is only available for download on “non-Pro” smartwatches. As such, the Fenix 7 Pro and Epix 2 Pro should remain on v17.23 for the time being.

Despite being two build numbers early, beta 17.28 does not introduce any tangible changes. Instead, Garmin’s changelog states that the update only introduces “miscellaneous improvements,” stressing that they are not consumer-facing. Additionally, Garmin is shipping beta version 17.28 with the electrocardiogram (ECG) feature disabled. Consequently, it seems like Garmin still has a way to go before it feels ready to offer a new stable update. See the Garmin and Beta Bug Reports forum post for more details on beta 17.28.
