watchOS 11 will arrive with some new features, such as the ability to pause the rings, set goals for each day of the week, the Vitals app and the AI-powered Photo Sphere. The latter has allowed me to create one of my all-time favorite spheres: minimalist and with the only thing I really need.

Thanks to the fact that in the widget stack I can have relevant information without having to see it all the time, on my watch face I have been able to put only the essentials: the time, the day and the weather. If I need to check some information, I access the stack of widgets, which is now much smarter and compatible with live activities.

How to create a minimalist watch face thanks to watchOS 11

One of the What’s new in the Photos app in watchOS 11 is that it uses machine learning to improve it considerably. In other words, when you put a photo, the sphere will use the depth effect so it looks cool with the time. Additionally, it will allow you to customize elements such as the type of time, position, font or complications.

Taking advantage of the new features of the Photos app, I created a sphere from a black background. It’s an idea I saw on the Apple-specialized media, 9to5mac. Thanks to the black color image that the dial will use as a background, I can have just the time, weather and day on the left, with nothing else and in black and white.

These have been the options I have used:

1. This black background.
2. Complication of the day that is.
3. Complication of weather conditions.
4. Time to the left.
5. XL rounded numbers.
6. Natural.

This way, The result is a minimalist watchface, with only what I need and taking advantage of the stack of widgets that I would forget was there before. This new watchface allows us an extra level of customization so that we can create, in a way, our own watchface.
