In the United States, Meta has begun testing a new functionality for Instagram content creators that allows them to have their own ‘chatbots’, in which they can interact through direct messages (DM).

This new assistant that comes to the application will be based on the AI Studios platform, first they came to companies and now they have been extended to ‘influencers’ to offer them the necessary tools so they can create their own artificial intelligence software.

In September 2023, the company announced that it planned to implement generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) on its platforms to introduce a bit of fun into user communication with artificial intelligence agents, its own assistant. Meta AI and the EMU sticker generator.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, on his Instagram channel, has announced that Meta is in the first phase of a test that allows them to interact with chatbots developed by the content creators themselves.

Right there, he reported that in the coming weeks they will be included in the direct messages section and will appear labeled as artificial intelligence, as he shared in a demonstration of what the format would be like.

When starting a conversation with a user compatible with this beta test, the platform will indicate that the messages generated with This technology may cause some of them to be inaccurate or inappropriate.

This new feature is currently only available in United States, for approximately 50 content creators. The creator of Facebook has not yet confirmed whether this new version will be made official and in which countries it will be available.

Regarding the objective of this new tool, Zuckerberg commented in a recent interview that “they need to create many different APIs to reflect the different interests of people,” according to some media outlets such as ‘TechCrunch’.

He also commented that a big part of Meta’s approach will be for each content creator and small businesses on the platform can create artificial intelligence, to help them engage with their community and customers.

Mark Zuckerberg has acknowledged that he does not believe that Meta yet knows “what will be the most attractive and entertaining formula that generates confidence for this,” which is why he wants these tests to allow users to try something new and have it end up working well.
