The LED light strips And smart light bulbs have been around for years. They are very affordable products (around 10 euros) and little by little they have not only become established in the market but also completing and improving its services. A few months ago the gaming brand par excellence launched onto the market what it called Gamer Room linea series of products from Advanced RGB lighting with which to design and decorate play and entertainment spaces. Let’s go through, one by one, all the items that make up this new family of Razer products. We start with the most basic option: the lightbulb. Available at a RRP 59.99 euros On Razer’s website, the Razer Aether Light Bulb is a RGB LED bulb of 9 W and 800 lumens which can glow at a color temperature ranging from 2700 to 6500 degrees Kelvin and reproduce almost 17 million colors.

As we will see with the rest of the Aether products, the strong point of the Razer bulb is that, in addition to being Compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant commandscan be fully customized using the app Razer Gamer Room. Not only that but connected to Razer Synapse It will illuminate and color the environment in a synchronized manner with its sister products.

We complicate things a bit with the two models of auxiliary lampsalso LED. The entire cover is translucent rigid plastic so the light they emit is perceived slightly blurredwith an intensity that is also 100% dimmable through the aforementioned Razer application or, in the case of the Razer Aether Smart Lamp Pro, from the controls that it includes at the top. Note that, due to how the lamps are designed, they do not shine as bright as the bulb. This is because its use is more focused on creating environmentssomething that the different ones use for colors and effects that the internal matrix of LEDs can generate.

Please note that the standard model goes on sale for 89.99 euros while the Pro does it for 149.99 euros. In addition to touch controls, the Pro model stands out for offering a multi-zone lightingbeing able to emit, for example, a reddish color at the top, a yellow in the middle and a purple in the area below. In other words, whatever comes to mindeverything is configurable through the Razer Gamer Room app.

The Razer Aether Smart Light Strip goes on sale for 149.99 euros and includes glue and 48 LED lights placed along the entire length of the strip, which measures exactly 2 meters.

This means that, as a rule, its use is limited to furniture, its ideal location being the desk, a corner of the wall, the headboard of the bed or a shelf. For the rest, we have two light zones. On the one hand we find a series of Ambient RGB lights40 in total, projected upwards and towards the back of the monitor, and on the other hand we have a beam of white light directed towards the screen, contributing to the view fatigue less and illuminating the work area.
This front light is adjustable manually by means of a touch control located on the bar itself: we can choose both the brightness level and the color temperature, which is located in a range between 2700 and 6500 K. Overall, it is a product extremely useful and that sees beyond gamer public which I appreciate so much from Razer. In my personal case, since I spend many hours a day in front of the computer, I recognize that has marked a before and after.

Working together: what possibilities does the entire ecosystem offer?

The app will allow us to tinker with the settings of each product, defining things like the brightness levelthe color temperature or the exact RGB we want for the LED lights. We can also turn the different lights on and off, program their operation and configuration lighting effects if the device allows it. Similarly, if we have Razer Synapse installed on our PC we will be able to access much more advanced levels of customizationdelving into the effects and individual operation of each LED.

It is important to mention that we will also be able to control everything with Alexa, Google Home and the Google Assistant itself, although yes, in these cases access to the settings will be much more limited, being able to turn the lights on and off and little else. In the same way, we must warn that if we decide to control the set through Synapse we will temporarily invalidate the controls from the mobile app.

In short, it is an extremely interesting option, which becomes even essential For those users focused on the content creation, whether they are professionals or not. It’s true that the complete set it is not cheap (around 500 euros), but the operation as an ecosystem more than compensates for this cost. It should also be taken into account that Razer guarantees the highest quality standards in their lighting devices, ensuring the 25,000 hours of lifespan in all cases.
