What is the plot of ‘Abigail’ with Melissa Barrera?
The story tells the life of five bandits who get involved in the kidnapping of a little 12-year-old girl. Each one has different skills that, together, make the plan a success. Your goal is to take the victim to an abandoned mansion and keep them alive for 24 hours.
The only one who keeps in contact with the girl is Joey (role played by Melissa Barrera). While the kidnappers remain in the mansion, shady things begin to happen and, now, their objective will be to survive the threat of that little girl who turns out to be a vampire.

“It’s chaotic, terrifying and, at the same time, very comical, but Joey had to be the emotional pillar so that the film makes some sense in the end, so that it’s not just a mess. She carries great pain from all the mistakes she has made in her life and all the regrets she has about not having a relationship with her son, that comes out when she meets Abigail,” comments the star, from 33 years old, in interview.

The film, which is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, responsible for ‘Scream 6’, will come to cinema this Friday April 19, 2024.
About her new project, Melissa Barrera commented: “As an actress I wanted to do something different from what you have seen me do in other films. I had a lot to work with, I built it and incorporated my protective instincts,” says the Monterrey native, adding: “Being the big sister of four, I have always been very protective and I try to take care of the people around me and that’s ‘ Joey’, that’s the role she takes.”
