Serial entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge Vineeta Singh took social media to slam rumors of her death. Addressing the falsehoods that have been circulating for weeks, the Sugar Cosmetics CEO shared a screenshot of the misleading reports of her death.
Singh said that such false reports have been circulating for the past five weeks. She said that despite her concerted efforts to counter the spread of misinformation, which included lodging a complaint with the Mumbai Crime Branch and reporting the issue to Meta (formerly Facebook) and the Mumbai Cyber Police, the rumors have continued to circulate unabated.

In his post, the entrepreneur also expressed his frustration with the false reports and said that the hardest part is when people reach out to his family to verify the false claims. She also sought suggestions from nitizens on how to handle such a situation.
“Been dealing with paid PR about my death and my arrest for 5 weeks. Ignored it at first, then reported to Meta several times, filed complaint with Mumbai Police but it’s not stopping. The hardest part is when folks panic and call my mom. “Any suggestions?” Vineeta Singh tweeted.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police was quick to respond to Vineeta Singh’s post and asked the entrepreneur to reach out to them. Sngh thanked the police for the support.
Several social media users urged authorities to take prompt action against those spreading the false news.
In December 2023, the Sugar Cosmetics CEO had secured the sixth position on the list released by IDFC First Bank and Hurun India, recognizing India’s top 10 women entrepreneurs.
