ALBANY, NY — Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) rallied for five unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out a 14-10 non-league win over Kingston’s baseball team on Tuesday.

The Tigers (3-4) led 10-7 on Logan Hart’s grand slam in the top of the fifth inning.

CBA (2-4) scored two runs at the bottom of the fifth off reliever Wade Holsapple to close the gap to 10-9.

Then the hosts scored five unearned runs off Kingston hurler Connor Gilday to complete the comeback. Matthew Sgambati had the big blow in the inning with a three-run triple.

Trailing 7-1 early in the game, Kingston pulled to within 7-6 with five runs in the top of the fourth inning.

Brady Gardner hit a solo homer to left field to get things going in the fourth. Jonas Miller singled in a run, Bradyn Parise had a two-run single and Hart doubled in a run.

Preston Provenzano and Hart each collected two hits for the Tigers. Hart also had two stolen bases.

Kingston committed two errors that led to seven unearned runs.

The Tigers travel to Minisink Valley for a 1 pm non-league contest on Saturday.

Wallkill 9, Washingtonville 1

At Wallkill, two-time Freeman Player of the Year Kyle DeGroat pitched six innings of hitless ball and struck out 14 as Wallkill remained unbeaten at 8-0.

Mason Franklin gave up three hits and one run to finish off the win. He struck out three in the final frame.

Ryan Rauschenbach and Franklin both had two singles and an RBI, Ryan Mayer had two singles and scored two runs and Spencer Freer had a single, three walks and three runs scored. Mike Daley drove in a run for the Panthers.

Jason Vermette had a double and Nathan Scaglione singled in a run for Washingtonville (3-5) in the non-league game.

Wallkill visits New Paltz at 4:15 pm on Wednesday.

Spackenkill 9, Highland 0

At Highland, Spackenkill pitcher Linus Odom gave up two hits and struck out 15 as the visiting Spartans improved to 8-0 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game.

Highland dropped to 5-3.
