It is not new that artificial light from houses and buildings is a great impediment for us to see the night sky as our ancestors saw it: superb and spectacular.

However, new advances in the world of technology have allowed giants like NASA to create tools that capture the beauty of what is thousands and thousands of kilometers away from us, but that we glimpse just by looking up.

Without a doubt, the sky with a clear tone accompanied by fluffy and white clouds brings us peace and joy, however, the night sky is also a worthy opponent to take our breath away with its majesty and mysterious sparkles.

To show us that even though much has changed here on planet Earth, NASA shared images that show the beauty of the Milky Way from its national parks.

“The dark sky conditions in many parks are ideal for stargazing. Follow @NatlParkService for ideas on where to go and visit our site to see ‘What’s Up’ in the night sky any month,” NASA shared on X (formerly Twitter).

  • Mysterious night sky from Glacier National Park in Montana

This photograph was taken by Jacob Frank and shows the different shades of the sky as the sun sets, giving way to the moon and allowing the stars to be seen from the perspective of the flowers.

  • A look into the glowing darkness

Frank took it upon himself to capture what is above our heads again, but this time with stars in a more powerful and intoxicating light from the Owachomo Bridge in Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah.

Fall into the starry abyss

The last image belongs to G. Owens, who was in charge of showing us a unique night sky from the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park, Colorado.
