The origin of International Design Day
The initiative was developed by Kim Paulsen to commemorate the foundation then known as “Icograda”And nowadays “National Design Council”an institution founded on April 27, 1963 in London with the aim of promoting the unification of the voices of graphic designers and visual communication designers throughout the world and which holds advisory status in the European Council, UNESCO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
And this festival aims to commemorate the essential functions of the graphic designer, both in society and in commerce, highlighting the importance of the profession and its contribution to generating significant changes. Since 1997, the International Design Council determined that each year there is a different slogan to celebrate this day.
