Dickson, TN – The went into the final day of the SAA Championships, hoping to improve their standings. The Warriors ended the tournament 7th of 8, ending with a total team score of 897. William Baker ended the tournament T9th after shooting E on the day. Oliver Naumann bounced back in a tremendous way after his slow start on Day One, climbing up the leaderboard 11 spots from yesterday to finish T21st after shooting -2 for the day. Naumann climbed up an impressive 23 spots from Day One to today, which is an unofficial program record for the Warriors (We can’t really check that without a major deep dive, but we’re pretty sure it’s a record). Cole Jones, Michael Young & Deqlyn Buttrey all finished just outside the Top 30 for the day while Hogan Dunn needed to withdraw from the day due to an illness.

After today’s performance, William Baker was named Second Team All-SAA for the second consecutive season. Baker finished T9th in back to back SAA Championships, with him shooting 69 on Day One of this year’s tournament. Baker has had an incredible season, tying the record for the Single Round Score Record of 68, that teammate Oliver Naumann broke in the first tournament of this season. This is Baker’s 4th Top 10 finish of the season.

On the women’s side, the Warriors had two golfers in the Top 30. Claire Nation finished the tournament T21st, shooting an 86 on the day while Amber Alsup finished T30th shooting at 81 on the day. Gianna Miceli ended the day 38th, shooting a 100 on the day. Nation’s T21st is the best finish a Warrior on the women’s team has had in the SAA Championships since Stephanie Leak’s T18th finish back in 2018. The two top 30 finishes for Nation & Alsup are the highest two Warriors have finished in the SAA Championships in program history .
