With the arrival of the winter months, The provincial government took measures to provide support to families who lack access to gas through home networks. This plan consists of the allocation of subsidies that will be applied to the electric energy bill of the Neuquén Provincial Energy Entity (EPEN) for a period of four months, covering from May to August, with the aim of compensating for the higher electricity consumption used for heating homes.
Ministerial Resolution 51/24 establishes that around 13,000 households throughout the provincial territory will benefit from these subsidiesin response to an urgent need detected in communities like Villa del Nahueve, where the lack of access to gas generated higher costs for alternatives such as firewood or jugs.

The Minister of Infrastructure, Rubén Etcheverry, highlighted the importance of this measure as part of a comprehensive project to make the province of Neuquén fairer, especially for those sectors that still do not have the benefits of gas through networks. This effort is aligned with the regionalization project, seeking to balance energy costs in all areas of the province.
The subsidies will also reach around 1,400 residential and social residential users of the EPEN in localities where there is no Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant, such as Paso Aguerre, Ramón Castro, Villa Nahueve, Moquehue, Octavio Pico, El Alamito, Curi Leuvú and Pilo Lil.
This is an important step to mitigate the high heating costs faced by homes in the interior of Neuquén, which do not have access to gas through networks. In addition, the government is working on a comprehensive study to balance energy costs throughout the province, with the aim of generating compensation in accordance with regionalization.
