Owls Fall Short for Second Straight Day

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball was ambushed by UAB for the second straight day, falling 15-0 in seven innings on Saturday.

UAB picked up where they left off on Friday night with three runs out of the gate in the first inning. They added four in the second, three in the third, and five in the fourth. The Owls bullpen held the Blazers scoreless in the fifth and sixth before conceding one more in the seventh.

The FAU offense meanwhile registered one hit – a double from Spencer Rich in the third. The only other base runner was Daulton Frankwho walked in the seventh.

head coach John McCormack

“I didn’t see this coming. We played great at South Florida and I thought we played great in Gainesville. Then we came home, and things haven’t been going great for UAB… and they just absolutely dominated us in every facet of the game.”

The Owls will attempt to salvage the series on Sunday at noon.
