Man killed in road accident on NH

JAMMU, May 6: A 27-year-old man died after the bike he was riding on collided with a truck near Battery Chashma area on the Jammu-Srinagar highway this evening.
Police said the accident happened near Battery Chashma area when a truck (JK03E-3536) collided with a bike (JK19A-5704), resulting in serious injuries to the biker.
He was taken to district Hospital Ramban where doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Sayeed Sajad Hussain son of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Gool.
SHO Ramban Vijay Kotwal confirmed the death of the individual in the accident. He said the body of the deceased has been moved to the mortuary of the hospital and the family members of the deceased have been informed.
A case under the relevant sections of the law has also been registered at Police Station Ramban and further investigation taken up, he said.
