SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — Caleb Crosby, 20, address unspecified, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and vehicle theft following an incident in Montgomery, Iowa. Crosby was booked into the Dickinson County Jail in Spirit Lake, Iowa and is being held on a $2 million bond.

According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a 911 call at 5:18 pm Sunday reporting a shooting in Montgomery. Sheriff’s deputies and police responded, secured the scene and gave medical care to the single victim.

Crosby, identified as a person of interest, was apprehended Sunday evening. No further details about the incident are being released at this time.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dickinson County Communications Center, Dickinson County Emergency Management, Spirit Lake Police, Okoboji Police, Arnolds Park Police, Milford Police, Lake Park Police, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Spirit Lake First Responders, Lakes Regional Health Ambulance and the Dickinson County Attorney.

The sheriff’s office reminds the public that all persons are innocent until proven guilty.
