Atalanta took their time to finish with a 2-1 victory in the field of Salernitana, bottom and already relegated to Serie B, this Monday in the 35th matchday of the Italian league.
With 60 points, Atalanta caught up with Roma (now 6th), whom they surpass by a better goal difference. The Romans had drawn 1-1 on Sunday against Juventus (3rd).
Fifth place is the last to qualify in Italy for the next Champions League and Atalanta is in a good position. Not only does it now surpass Roma in the table, but it has played one game less than the capital club.
Salernitana started the game surprising, taking the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Frenchman Loum Tchaouna.
The equalizer came in the 57th minute, thanks to Gianluca Scamacca, who is in great form. It is his seventh goal in the last month, taking into account all competitions.
