The producers of the series Prime Video Gen V confirmed that the role of Chance Perdomo in season 2 it will not be modified after the death of the actor.
In a statement shared on social media, the series’ producers said Perdomo’s Andre Anderson will not be played by another actor when the show returns.
“As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to honor his memory,” reads the producers’ statement shared on Instagram. “We will not change the role because no one can replace Chance”.
The statement continued: “Instead, we have taken the time and space to refract the stories of our second season as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season”.

The death of Chance Perdomo
Perdomo died on March 30 in a motorcycle accident. The cast and producers of Gen V were supposed to get together for their first table read for season 2, as filming was scheduled to begin on April 8 in Toronto. However, after Perdomo’s sudden death, production of the series was delayed.
In Gen V, Perdomo played Andre Anderson, a popular student with magnetic manipulation capabilities. In the spin-off of The Boysstarred alongside Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.
After learning of Perdomo’s death, the cast of Gen V issued a joint statement to remember the late actor.
“Our hearts go out to Chance’s loved ones as we mourn this shocking loss,” the statement read. “We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he always carried with him. Rest in peace, dear friend, we will miss you deeply.”
