Two engines – one from Peterchurch and one from Eardisley – plus the restricted access vehicles from Whitchurch and Ross-on-Wye and the water carrier from Leominster – were called to Dorstone at 9.20pm on Friday (May 3).
A fire service spokesperson said a large amount of smoke was coming from the fuse box in a two-storey domestic property.

“Electrics were isolated by fire service personnel who stood by with a dry powder extinguisher while monitoring the interior and exterior of the property using a thermal imaging camera until the arrival of National Grid,” he said.
“They isolated the external supply of electricity and removed the fuse board which was then dampened down by fire service personnel using a hosereel jet and checked with a thermal imaging camera. There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended.”
Meanwhile, shortly before 7.55am the following morning (May 4), two crews from Hereford were called to Belle Bank Avenue, in Holmer.
A small fire in an electric box had been extinguished before the arrival of the fire service. Electrics were isolated and an upstairs flat was checked over using a thermal imaging camera.
