A fire caused by an explosion in a house in Morelia, Michoacán, left seven dead, including a grandmother with her six grandchildren.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that the lifeless bodies were taken to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) to begin the identification process of each of them.

The agency also confirmed that the incident occurred in the early morning of May 7 of this year, on Níquel Street, Lomas de Aldea neighborhood. Around 4 in the morning, the authorities received the report.

After the arrival of emergency bodies that managed to put out the fire, the remains of seven people were discovered, among them the woman identified as María Griselda, 71, who had six grandchildren in her care, due to the death of the minors’ mother. .

Additionally, three others lived in said residence who were at least 6, 9 and 12 years old, all of them being his grandchildren.

The FGE is carrying out investigations to find out the reason that led to the explosion, using scientific and field methods, to resolve the case.

Media indicate that experts specialized in fires are already working to clarify the reasons for the fire, while experts in genetics, dentistry and forensic doctors identify the charred bodies.
