NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals all-rounder Tristan Stubbs has revealed that his teammate Kuldeep Yadav refuses to bowl to him during practice sessions.

“He won’t bowl to me, I have tried a few times to go face him but he won’t bowl to me,” Tristan Stubbs said to The Grade Cricketer podcast.

Stubbs, a young South African player, has made a significant impact during the 2024 IPL season, contributing to Delhi Capitals’ recent emergence towards the top four. In the 12 matches he has played, the middle-order batsman has accumulated 318 runs at an impressive average of 53 and a remarkable strike rate of 188.17.

During the podcast, Stubbs was questioned about facing Kuldeep Yadav’s signature wrong-un delivery. He emphasized that despite his repeated efforts, India’s prominent left-arm spinner Adamantly declines to bowl to him.

“I think he’s trying to keep it a mystery, so I can’t tell you I have tried to face him but he’s not having it,” he said.

As Stubbs prepares for his first major ICC tournament, he is expected to play a crucial role for South Africa in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

When asked if his desire to face Kuldeep was driven by the possibility of an India vs South Africa encounter in the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup, the 23-year-old responded, “I think it’s quietly not been said but I think so “yeah.”
