The Mayor’s Office Jamundi issued a statement expressing its rejection of any act of violence against the population and ensuring that local authorities are collaborating closely with the authorities to clarify the incident. So far, the attack has not been attributed to any specific group.
This incident adds to the escalation of violence that occurred on April 5, when the Central General Staff (EMC) of the dissidents carried out attacks in several municipalities in southwestern Colombia, including Jamundí. On that occasion, the substation Police of the township of Oak trees was subjected to a similar attack with cylinder bombs and rifle rounds, causing only material damage.

Investigations indicate that two individuals threw the grenade from a motorcycle, which they later abandoned at the black Xtz viewpoint. They were hooded with bags, making their identification difficult.
