Residents and parents in Aiyepe road, Sagamu, are once again lamenting the deplorable state of the Aiyepe road, which has become a nightmare during the rainy season.
The road’s condition has made commuting a Herculean task, crippling businesses in the area and causing immense hardship for parents who struggle to take their children to school daily. The area is severely waterlogged, making it difficult for people to move freely, and parents fear accidents while taking their trips to school.
The present state of the road has brought business activities to a standstill, as customers and traders find it difficult to access the area. The residents and parents are pleading with the state and local government to urgently intervene and repair the road. They argue that the authorities’ inaction has caused untold suffering and hardship, and it is time for them to take responsibility and address the issue.
In an interview with our correspondent, a parent, lamented the difficulty she faces daily while taking her children to school. “I fear for my children’s safety every day due to the deplorable state of the road. The fear of accidents is constantly on my mind, and I urge the authorities to urgently intervene and repair the road. We cannot continue like this,” she said.
The residents and parents have vowed to continue their agitation until the authorities take concrete action to address their plight. They urge the government to prioritize the repair of the Aiyepe road to alleviate the suffering of the people and restore business activities in the area.
