‘A 33-year-old man from Taylor survived the shooting.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 5, just before 2 pm
Detroit police officers were called to a residence in the 3800 block of 33rd Street for a reported triple shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers located Hernandez inside the house with a gunshot wound to the head, and Stoops, with a gunshot wound to the head and back.
Both were already deceased.
The 33-year-old victim suffered gunshot wounds to the face and leg.
Medics arrived on the scene and transported the surviving victim to a local hospital for treatment.
It is alleged that an altercation between Toler and Hernandez escalated, and he produced and fired a handgun multiple times, non-fatally wounding the 33-year-old victim, and fatally injuring Hernandez and Stoops.
He then allegedly fled the area.
An investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to Toler’s arrest nine days after the shooting.
