It happened in the city of El Bosón, province of Río Negro. Members of the “Puente Villegas” section of the National Gendarmerie stopped the march of a Volkswagen Vento in which a man was traveling, coming from the city of Salta. Its final destination was Esquel, in Chubut.
When inspecting the car trunkthe agents noticed a strong smell of paint, so they requested support from the Force’s dog team.
At that moment, the anti-narcotics dog reacted by passing in front of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cylinders that were newly painted.
After this, the man who had gotten out of the car to “collaborate” with the agents, immediately got into the car and fled.
The uniformed officers began to follow him, and managed to find the vehicle again, stopped in the area of the Foyel River bridge, on National Route 40. It had just crashed and had damage to its front axle, which prevented it from continuing.
The gendarmes contacted the Federal Court of Bariloche, which ordered the transfer of the vehicle to the Unit seat with the aim of resuming the search.
From the inspection, 22 packages were found, 11 of which contained 13,602 kilos of cannabis sativa, while the other 11 remaining contained 11,670 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride.
