Mexico attends the inauguration of President Bukele of El Salvador | Ministry of Foreign Affairs | Government

  • The Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Laura Elena Carrillo, headed the Mexican delegation that attended the inauguration of President Nayib Bukele.
  • The undersecretary met with authorities there, stressing the importance of continuing the two countries’ collaboration on joint projects that increase the well-being of the people of both nations.

Today in San Salvador, the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas, headed the Mexican delegation that attended the inauguration of President Bukele of El Salvador for the 2024-2029 term.

Undersecretary Carrillo conveyed the congratulations of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the people of Mexico, wishing success and prosperity to President Bukele and his administration during his second term.

She emphasized that Mexico and El Salvador share historic ties of friendship and cooperation, and stressed the importance of continuing to collaborate on joint initiatives and projects that promote the well-being of the people of both nations.

While in El Salvador, Undersecretary Carrillo met with various authorities to discuss issues such as strengthening bilateral cooperation, trade, investment, security, migration and development cooperation, reaffirming the commitment of both countries to work on issues of common interest.

Mexico reiterates its commitment to continue strengthening its ties of friendship and cooperation with El Salvador for the peace, stability and sustainable development of the region.
