5 of family killed with ax in Chhattisgarh.
Raipur: Chhattisgarh police on Saturday bodies of six people from a family and five of them were hacked to death while another was found hanging in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. The deceased have been identified as Manoj Sahu, Hemlal Sahu (55), his wife Jagmoti Sahu (50), their daughters Meera Sahu (30) and Mamta Sahu (35), and the couple’s grandson Ayush (5).
Police said the incident took place at Thargaon village under Saliha police station limits, reported PTI. SP said that five of the deceased had ax injuries on their bodies. “Circumstantial evidence suggests that Manoj killed them before hanging himself,” the SP said, quoted PTI.

In another case earlier this month, a 14-year-old girl allegedly hacked her elder brother to death after he scolded her for talking to boys on the mobile phone, the police said. The incident reportedly took place in Chhattisgarh’s Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai (KCG) district.
The incident took place in the Amlidihkala village under the Chhuikhadan police station limits. The teenage girl was detained for the offense on Friday, an official statement said.
The girl told the police that she and her 18-year-old brother were at home that day while other family members had gone out for work at the time of the incident.
Her brother reprimanded her and asked her not to use the mobile phone anymore, claiming that she talked to boys on the phone. Upset because of the berating of her, she allegedly slashed his throat with an ax when he had fallen asleep, killing him on the spot, the police said.
