Distrigas extends the gas network in El Calafate to supply the university

The provincial company Distrigas SA is carrying out work to extend the gas network in El Calafate, with the aim of supplying the G&G System facilities, a building where several universities that offer distance education in the town operate together.

As explained by Cesar Aguilar, from the Distrigas Gas Network Extension Management: “the work itself is on the avenue crossing to feed this Network of Universities. Public Services, it is carried out through a tunnel and when we finish to make the crossing with a diameter of 180 mm, which will be tomorrow, we will be able to continue reinforcing everything that is the distribution network,” he explained.

This extension of the gas network is carried out at the request of the universities that make up the G&G System, among which are Fasta, Belgrano, UCASAL, ISIV, and other houses of higher education. To carry out the project, a specific agreement was signed between Distrigas and the educational centers involved.

Aguilar highlighted the importance of this work, which will allow natural gas to be supplied to the university facilities, providing a reliable and efficient source of energy to heat the buildings and maintain adequate conditions for the development of academic and administrative activities.

The estimated time to complete the network extension work is one to two weeks, although Aguilar warned that “the weather now entering winter complicates the work itself a little more since if the temperature drops too much it cannot be done.” mergers, that’s why we are waiting for the climatic conditions.”

This initiative is part of the lines of action that Distrigas SA carries out in the different locations of the province of Santa Cruz, with the objective of expanding the coverage of the gas network and providing quality service to residential and commercial users. and industrial.
