For matchday 15 and closing of the first round in Primera B, Curicó Unidos rescued an agonizing point in the 1-1 draw against Deportes Antofagasta at the Calvo y Bascuñán stadium. A hard-fought match that had an agonizing ending for Tortero who, yes, closes the first half at the bottom.
A tough start to the game that featured good approaches from both teams. First, at 3′ with a shot by Sebastián Parada for the visit, then another at 7′ with a shot by Juan Méndez and at 13′ with a Puma reply through Cuadra’s shot that went into a corner.
Curicó showed good signs on the court, but Antofagasta approached the area and, at 32′, celebrated the opening of the scoreboard thanks to José Bández who captured a rebound and connected the ball into the Curicó goal for the first of the game.
Subsequently, the second half also saw good chances from both teams, however, Tortero’s excitement had to wait until the last minute when, at 94′, it was Matías Cahais who made good use of the ball left by Cerda and closed the equality for the visit.
Thanks to the tie, Antofagasta temporarily stayed in fourth place with 24 points, while Curicó was in 13th place with 16 points.
