Aubrey O’Day, former member of Danity Kane told People “It doesn’t feel justified” by the recent accusations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. O’Day signed to Bad Boy Records after forming her girl group Danity Kane in 2005’s Making the Band.

“When you are a victim of someone, there is no justification. …Whoever is exposed, or whatever truth is told, do not change the reality of what has happened,” she explained. “It is something eternal that you have to wake up every day and choose the evolution of the past. Will not disappear.”

“It’s like childhood trauma. “We don’t want to think that it just goes away at thirty, but we really realize how serious it is at thirty,” O’Day concluded.

In September, O’Day was revealed to be among former Bad Boy artists who were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement to never disparage Combs or his label. The singer said that he will not sign this agreement and encouraged his colleagues to refuse to sign it as well.

At that time, Combs announced that publishing rights would be reassigned to the label’s artists. This process began in 2021.

“So what’s happening is that artists (some of them, not all) are getting royalties and streaming ownership back for releasing songs we wrote when you know you’re going to have to play the same song a million times. It’s hundreds of dollars. ‘”O’Day explained to the presentation.'”

Combs has been named in seven lawsuits since November 2023 and is accused of rape, gang rape, sex trafficking, drug trafficking and more. In May, federal investigators announced plans to bring several of the mogul’s co-defendants before a grand jury.
