The Comptroller notified, through a letter, to the president of Corpac José Luis Barrios Espinosa on the beginning of an investigation into the technical failures recorded on the landing strip of the Jorge Chávez International Airport that led to the suspension, cancellation and delays of flights of different airlines in the country and It left more than 10,000 passengers stranded.

According to the sanctioning body, a team of professionals has been deployed to collect information on the failure recorded in the runway lighting system.

The Peruvian Airports and Commercial Aviation Corporation SA (Corpac), is an organization attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) and is responsible for air safety in Peru.
