Washington, June 4 (EFE).- Stephen Miller, the ideologue of the immigration policy of the Administration of former President Donald Trump (2017-2021), added fuel to the fire this Tuesday to the idea that the White House is sponsoring “an invasion” of foreigners and assured that the Democrats are hiding “a new DACA” (work permit program for migrants who arrived in the country as children).

In a call with the press, the Republican advisor spoke out against an executive order signed this Tuesday by Democratic President Joe Biden to limit asylum requests at the border, in what is one of his toughest immigration measures. of his mandate.

The order, which came into effect today, allows US authorities to deport those who do not pass strict asylum standards when the figure of 2,500 daily detentions at the border is exceeded for an average of seven days.

Miller’s criticism pointed to the fact that the Biden Administration will still allow asylum seekers to enter, and that the order is temporary and does not cover migrant children who enter the country only.

“Children are exempt from the executive order so children are exempt from cartels and smugglers because they have been told you have the greenest light to smuggle and traffic to the US,” stressed the advisor who is supporting the re-election of former President Trump.

Miller also suggested that Democrats “have a plan” to establish a new Deferred Action program, known as DACA.

The Republican believes that in two years Democrats will advocate giving amnesty to asylum seekers who have received provisional protection while their cases are reviewed.

“That’s the plan, this is DACA for the new illegals,” the Republican insisted several times in the talk with the press.

The former official reiterated the Trump campaign’s message, which noted that “Joe Biden’s executive order is an amnesty, it is not for border security,” according to Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary of the Republican’s campaign.

The measure comes six months before the general elections, in which Biden aspires to be re-elected for a second term. Migration management has become a central issue for voters, surpassing the economy and inflation, according to several polls. EFE
