Azteca Deportes analyst David Medrano gives his version of why technical director Robert Dante Siboldi’s contract with Tigres was not renewed.
“Why is Siboldi leaving Tigres? Damn! I hope that at some point the Tigres board comes out to give the official version or that Siboldi himself and his people give it.
“For now, what has emerged and what is known is serious, we will have to see if it can be verified, but when doubt arises, it seems to me that the Tigre board makes the decision.
“What are we talking about? That the people in charge at Tigres have many doubts about how the tie against Rayados was approached (in the Quarterfinals of the 2024 Clausura Tournament), that is the core issue. For this reason, Robert Dante Siboldi and his coaching staff were summoned aside to talk with the Tigres people, some on one side and others on the other.
“And the issue had to do with the two games against Rayados: the lineup, why one, why another, why in Rayados they already knew some things that Tigres was going to present in the strategic aspect, all those types of things were discussed in the meeting with both Robert Dante Siboldi and his people. And the northern board made the decision to thank ‘Flaco’, even though a few weeks ago they had determined the renewal.
“I insist, the talk with Siboldi and the people on his coaching staff revolved around the two games against Rayados de Monterrey in the qualifying round. It seems that there are many doubts around that regard, especially questioning issues of the lineup, and above all concerned because they understand that the people of Monterrey had privileged information about how the people of Tigres were going to play, and that is why They made the decision to end the negotiation with Robert Dante Siboldi and his people.
