The economic analyst and collaborator of Herrera at COPEMarc Vidalhas stated in Badajoz that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have a profound impact on the economy,culture and society,determining the jobs of the future.

Vidal made these statements during his speech at the business meeting‘Talk later’organized by the Badajoz Chamber of Commerce,where he gave the talk‘Future Unboxing’.In her,has analyzed the future from the perspective of“exponential innovation”,highlighting that “in the last ten years more progress has been made than in the previous hundred.”

The analyst has pointed out that the key to facing the coming changes lies in“understand uncertainty and crisis as an opportunity”.For it,has highlighted the importance of“flexibility”as one of the most important qualities to adapt to a world in constant transformation.

Digital employment: an opportunity for the future

The Minister of Economy also participated in the meeting,Employment and Digital Transformation of the Government of Extremadura,Guillermo Santamaría.Santamaría has explained the regional Executive’s commitment todigital requalificationthrough the“Potential” Digital Talent Plan.

The counselor has stressed that the“digitalization emerges as a driver that could radically redefine the current economic landscape”.In this sense,has cited a COTEC 2023 report that ensures that the47.7% growth in digital employmentdoubles growth in other sectors.“That is to say,“Whoever is trained in digital specialties has a high chance of finding quality and future employment,”Santamaría stated.

To meet the growing demand for professionals with digital skills,The Government of Extremadura has approved68 training actions for more than a thousand students.These actions will train participants in specialized technological profiles in subjects such ascybersecurity, robotics, industrial automation, 2D and 3D animation, information technology, Agriculture 4.0 and teleworking.

Santamaría has highlighted that Extremadura has the“opportunity to build a model for the industry of the future, industry 4.0”applied to all areas of economic activity.The counselor has indicated that this model will allow“increase employment in the agricultural, agro-industrial, industrial and service sectors”.

Fighting the digital divide in the rural world

The counselor recalled that the Extremadura Regional Government is also working tocombat the digital divide in the rural world.In this sense,has mentioned theDigital Skills Plan in Rural Environments until 2026equipped withmore than four million euros.
