The CNH reported that of 112 exploration and production contracts, 107 remain active, with 32 in production, and 28 areas partially waived until May 2024.

The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) published the contract monitoring report for May 2024, reporting on the status of exploration and production contracts signed in the last six years.

According to the document, of the 112 signed contracts, only five have been completed early, 107 remain active. Of these, 73 are in license mode and 34 in shared production. Round two has the largest number of contracts, totaling 50, followed by round one with 33.

Of the 107 active contracts, only 32 have hydrocarbon production; Of these, five are migrations from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), two are associations (farmouts) and the rest are private contracts.

According to the CNH, until April, the contracts produced an average of 169 thousand barrels of oil per day and 192.1 million cubic feet of natural gas.

As of May, a part of the contractual area has been partially waived in 28 contracts, five contracts have been terminated early, 12 were concluded due to lack of exploratory success and there are 20 resignations in process.
