Regarding the stadiums in which the U-20 Women’s World Cup matches will be played, the authorities of each city reported that they are already in optimal conditions. In Bogotá, the two sports venues will be enabled for these purposes, that is, both the Nemesio Camacho El Campín Stadium and the Metropolitano de Techo Stadium.
In the case of Medellín, the Atanasio Girardot Stadium; while in Cali, the Pascual Guerrero.
The Colombian team, which is hosting this important global sporting event, will play its first two games in El Campín, located in the country’s capital. These matches will be played on Saturday, August 31 at six in the afternoon against the Australian team, and on Tuesday, September 3 at eight at night against Cameroon.
The Tricolor will finish the first phase at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, in Medellín, on Friday, September 6, with the match they will play against the Mexican team at eight at night.
The capital of Valle del Cauca will host the largest number of matches of the U-20 Women’s World Cup, 18 in total.
Twelve meetings correspond to group C, which make up Spain, the United States, Paraguay and Morocco; and the rest are from group Fwhere the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Argentina, Costa Rica and the Netherlands will compete.
This city will also host two inter-group matches: Ghana vs. New Zealand and Venezuela vs. Nigeria. And additionally, two quarterfinal matches and two semi-final matches are scheduled at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium.
The Secretary of Sports and District Recreation, Felipe Montoya, attended the official draw for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday, June 5, held in Bogotá.
“Cali and its Pascual Guerrero stadium will have the greatest number of games. We are ready to receive groups C and F as our main headquarters; Welcome all players from Spain, the United States, Paraguay, Morocco, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Argentina, Costa Rica and the Netherlands; and welcome to the technical teams, their companions and all the journalists who will come,” said the official.
“This World Cup will be a party and we will show the world that Colombia and, mainly, our city, have the best fans of women’s soccer,” added the secretary.
Ten games will be played at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, six of them in the group stage, two in the round of 16 and two in the quarterfinals.
