Flag Day: 450 Liberteños schoolchildren participate in bodyguard contest in Trujillo | News

As part of the commemorative activities for Flag Day, which is celebrated every June 7, the Identity House of the Regional Government of La Libertad organized the first Regional Competition of Bodyguards and General Staff, where 450 Liberteños students participated.

The competition brought together schoolchildren from 40 secondary schools, from the provinces of Trujillo, Sánchez Carrión, Virú and Otuzco. The contest was divided into three categories: women, mixed and men. Each school was presented with 10 members who showed great martial step and respect for this contest that seeks to revalue and encourage the love for our country.

“An important objective of the regional government is the comprehensive training of our children and young people, we aspire to mold them not only from a cognitive point of view but also to work on values ​​and civility, which is why we are meeting today,” said the director. from the House of Regional Identity, Nora Benot.

The official indicated that in the Lady category, first place was obtained by the Jesús y María educational institution in the district of Laredo, in the Mixed category it was obtained by the Antenor Orrego Espinoza school, also from Laredo, while the emblematic San Juan de Trujillo school won. with first place in the Men’s category.

Civic education

The regional manager of Education, Martín Camacho, highlighted the importance of teaching the civic education course again in schools, in order to promote love and respect for the country and its national symbols.

“With this participation we demonstrate the love we have for our country; besides, [debo] inform that next year we should have our new regional curriculum in which the civic education course will be included as we had years ago. To do this, we will request support from the Army as they did previously and provide pre-military training.”

The competition jury was made up of Fernando Ayquipa Mendoza, senior chief technician of the Peruvian Army; Orlando Iparraguirre Navarro, commander of the National Police of Peru and III Macro Police Region, and Mirko Aguilar Culquitante, technician of the Peruvian Navy and the Salaverry Port Captaincy.
