The coach of the Uruguayan national team, Marcelo Bielsa closed the press conference with a touch of good humor after the celestial defeat against Mexico 4-0 in the friendly this Wednesday in Denver, his team’s last game before the Copa América 2024.
The DT had an exchange with the person responsible for organizing the conference and ordering the journalists to ask their questions.
What Bielsa interrupted him. “Hey, I have time today,” she told him.
“Ok, no problem,” added the person in charge of the conference.
Bielsa then explained. “No… I’m telling you because yesterday we were very rude,” he said in reference to the pre-match conference on Tuesday, which lasted almost eight minutes, something unusual when he makes statements.
“And if today we are the same… For me, the faster I go, the better. But you decide,” added the coach..
After the exchange, they asked him one more question in which Bielsa confessed that he received information about the Mexican team from a friend. “I asked a Mexican friend for advice to prepare for today’s game,” he said.
After his response, the conference organizer asked: “Do we have another question?”
And before the silence, Bielsa, smiling, told him: “It’s not your fault,” then stand up and walk away.
