The mayor of the town comments on a reference quote at the thematic fairs
The Ses Herbes Fair of Jungle Will it be this weekend. It commemorates an important moment in its history, reaching 25 years of celebration. Sunday the 9th will be its main day, after a large number of events are already held on Saturday, including some as traditional as the Maid of Saig de les Herbesthe Tape Night or a round table that will review these 25 years of the fair.
Sunday’s activity will begin very early, at 7:30 in the morning, with the Dawnin which you will find the murta collidors. At 9 the Església steps will be decorated and at 12 the inauguration of l’Hort de les Rondalles will take place.
Joan Rotger, mayor of the town, highlights the importance of this anniversary: «The Fira de Ses Herbes is consolidated. It also does so with a program worthy of these 25 years of experience.” Regarding the aforementioned round table on Saturday the 8th, says that “it will revolve around the experiences, the projects carried out and the future vision of our Fair.” On Sunday afternoon they will highlight the Entrance of the Murta and the cercavila, which will be at 6 p.m. In it they will walk through the streets collidors and the dimonis boiets, accompanied by the Xeremiers de Selva. At that same time, the stalls will open, where you can find medicinal and aromatic plants, cosmetics, liquors, perfumes, books and a wide variety of organic products.
«You can highlight what is the central act, the distillation of Murta water in the still that is purposely set up in the center of the square,” adds Rotger. This distillation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to be completed by 9 p.m. Then there will be Foc de l’Estol de Ses Herbesin which you can see the characters from l’Estol with the gegants in Rosa and in Pau de Selva. It will be at 11 p.m. A little later, at 11:30 p.m., it will be time for the performance of the Batucada Gorimba, which will finally lead to the closing of the Fair.
Rotger assures that the Ses Herbes Fair “combines aspects such as commercial and scientific, but also a important cultural aspect, with an Estol de Ses Herbes that develops its activity with its own music and iconography. Given the great interest of this fair, the mayor invites “all of Mallorca to visit Selva this weekend to see a themed Fair, pioneer at the time, which focuses on the development of people in balance with nature and in which they will also be able to have a great time.
