Good news after the recent contingency that kept the gas supply for industry and CNG cut off for 30 hours: The UT Techint-Sacde completed the welding work on the Reversal of the Northern Gasduct, the company reported.

“It corresponds to the regular line welding in lines 2 and 3 assigned to the UT Techint – Sacde of the project that will supply the provinces of northern Argentina with gas from Vaca Muerta,” stated those in charge of the work. In total, 4,059 welds were made in 41 days, which is equivalent to an average progress of 3 km per day.

This stage, which ended in the town of Arroyo Cabral, province of Córdoba, “had an automatic welding system that made it possible to reduce execution times and complete the work in record time, in line with the planned contractual deadlines,” adds the UT statement.

The welding stage ended in the town of Arroyo Cabral.

This technology was used for the first time in the country by the UT in the Néstor Kirchner Gasduct, and “allows a greater number of weldings to be carried out per day, minimizes errors and gives predictability to the production rate.”

Lines 2 and 3 in charge of the UT contemplate 100 km of 36-inch gas pipeline, from the town of La Carlota to the vicinity of Villa María.

Currently, it continues with trenching, splicing, special crossings, lining, lowering and covering work, and then begins hydraulic tests.
