San Juan schools suffer from the lack of heating in the establishments. Authorities from the Ministry of Education spoke with Telesol Noticias and stated that they only provided a solution to 4 of the 24 institutions that demand natural gas service.
“At first around 15, then they increased to 24. At this moment we have solved 4 and we are working on the other 20 to give them a quick solution,” commented the educational entity.
At the same time, they described that the problem is complex. “This is due to the fact that they are generally buildings that have been around for a long time, extensions have been made and they were not included in the documentation at the time. So we have to make the regulations very thoroughly, in such a way that ECOGAS can be aware of the magnitude of the building, comply with those regulations that today they must, let’s say, abide by,” they added.
Finally, they highlighted that the buildings were built with other ECOGAS regulations. “We have to leave them in the conditions that they are demanding. The schools, unfortunately, have wear and tear typical of the number of students, of the years that many old schools have, so they have a wear and tear typical of use, of how old they are, which is logical. There is a lot of vandalism too, we are trying to see how we can attack it, how we can solve it, which is not easy either,” they closed.
