When does it make landfall in Mexico and what will its trajectory be?

The official season of rains and tropical cyclones It began on May 15 on the coasts of the Peaceful and on June 1 in the Atlantic, as reported by the National Meteorological Service. Given this, the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC), the National Meteorological Service (SMN) and the National Water Commission (Conagua) are preparing to face the season of hurricanes and cyclones in Mexico this year, after a particularly active 2023.

In a conference held on May 6, authorities shared details about expectations for this season. It is anticipated to be more active than usual, with an increase in the number of tropical cyclonic systems in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

It is projected that the hurricane season this 2024 extends until November of this year. Likewise, the first natural phenomenon has already been detected: Albert.

He National Hurricane Center (NHC) of the United States mentioned that tentatively the Hurricane Albert will make landfall in June, triggering theintense rains and winds that will impact the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Campeche, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Tabasco.

However, these predictions are preliminary since the trajectory of the hurricane could vary suddenly, therefore, it is crucial to closely follow the recommendations issued by Civil Protection.

In this regard, the National Water Commission (Conagua), through the National Meteorological Service (SMN), has reported that it will maintain special surveillance over a low pressure area identified in the Atlantic.

Likewise, a few days ago this institution expressed that they expect between 15 and 18 tropical systems in 2024so it remains in total surveillance of what happens in the Atlantic Ocean.
