At least thirteen people have been injured, four of them seriously, as a result of a strong explosion this Friday inside a DIY store in Botosani, a city located in northeastern Romania. More than a hundred people, including customers and workers, were in one of the several stores that the Dedeman company has spread throughout Romania. Emergency teams do not rule out potential victims trapped in the rubble, reports the Romania Journal news portal. Of the four people who are in serious condition, two have had to be intubated. “The patients present burns of varying degrees in proportions of 10 to 15 percent, located in the upper part of the body,” the Ministry of Health reported, according to the newspaper ‘Adevarul’. The authorities have activated the highest level of alert in order to deal with the disaster caused by an explosion whose origin is still unknown. Two fire crews, multiple ambulances and a mobile intensive care unit have been sent to the scene.
