YPF will build a 14 kilometer gas pipeline betweenTrayén and the Añelo plateau to enable gas supply to the neighborhoods and industries located in the north of the city.
The work will allow the service to reach hundreds of families safely, expanding the infrastructure to make the development of Vaca Muerta sustainable.
The announcement was made today Vice President of Infrastructure of YPF, Gustavo Gallinoduring a meeting of the Vaca Muerta Infrastructure Board, in which the governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa and other operators in the sector participated.
“I come to ratify a commitment from our president and CEO, Horacio Marín, to carry out this work that will not only allow gas to be brought to the inhabitants of Añelo, but will also generate the conditions for the installation of companies and create new opportunities,” said Gallino.
“This is a bet on the future, thinking about an Argentina that needs to develop its resources to become an energy power”he remarked.
Meanwhile, Governor Figueroa assured that “we applaud this step that YPF takes in working for social sustainability, we appreciate it and we point it out as a success.”
For his part, the mayor of Añelo, Fernando Banderet, said that “this is a very necessary and long-awaited work for Añelo, which will allow hundreds of families to access gas.”
“We appreciate YPF’s commitment to starting this fundamental infrastructure for our development,” he indicated.
The executive project of the work is being prepared. It will contemplate a 6-inch gas pipeline that will connect the Vaca Muerta productive area in the Loma Campana field with the plateau of the town of Añelo.
This pipeline will have the capacity to supply not only household consumption in the area along with potential urban growth, but will also allow the establishment of businesses or companies that use gas as a raw material, boosting the economy of the area.
The construction of the distribution network, the connections and gas supply will be the responsibility of the company or organization that takes over the distribution of the service.
With this work, YPF promotes the development of the communities where its operation is present, in search of an improvement in the quality of life and opportunities of its inhabitants.
