Although he had traveled to Elkhart Lake, in the state of Wisconsin, Canapino will be replaced by the young American Nolan Siegel (competes in INDY NXT on HMD Motorsports) at Road America due to the “increase in online abuse and harassment resulting from this week’s events“, according to the statement of Holliger Racing Juncos.

online abuse It is unacceptable and we must ensure that our drivers are prepared both mentally and physically when they get into the car. We are saddened by the events that led to this scenario“he remarked Brad Hollingerco-owner of the team.

The incident occurred last Sunday in Detroit, where Théo Pourchaire (Arrow McLaren) launched into the first corner and collided with his rival’s left front wheel. As a result of this action, both Canapinoas Ricardo Juncos released a considerable amount of abuse towards French that could be heard on the radio.

Furthermore, as commented in the communication, the alignment of the car was affected and the performance was compromised until the reef boy (issued a statement about it and it was known that McLaren terminated the strategic alliance it had with Juncos Hollinger Racing) ended in the twelfth place.

Apparently, the idea of Holliger Racing Juncos is to give a rest to Canapino -probably until June 23, at the California circuit of Laguna Seca- to calm the waters and that the issue would not continue on the agenda of the IndyCar.

Agustín Canapino, back to Road Tourism?

Walter Pereztitle of Canning Motorsportdevised a plan so that Canapino return to Road Tourism on the last four dates of 2024, just as happened in 2023. What is it about? Will put together a Chevrolet Camaro. “We already have the skins and the chassis in the workshop“he explained to SoloTC.

According to the official calendar, the Reef player will end his participation in IndyCar on September 15, so he would be free to race on September 29 (possibly in Paraná), October 20 in San Nicolás, November 10 in Toay and the GP Coronación on December 1 that would be held in La Plata .

But before Canapino you will have to get a special permission from the ACTCsince article 55 of the regulations specifies that No driver of the category will be able to participate in the last five dates of the championship if “he had not competed on previous dates of the aforementioned championship.”.
