In June, electricity will increase by 22% and gas, up to 33%, with which the energy tariff will affect 60% of users.

The new increases ordered by the national government due to the removal of subsidies will have a strong impact on the medium and low levels, where the majority of clients are concentrated.

Meanwhile, the Río Cuarto Ombudsman’s Office proposes eliminating the tax burdens that increase both electricity and gas bills.

As Puntal reported, “the national government approved increases in the wholesale prices of electricity and gas and defined new ceilings from which the middle and low-income sectors will pay the full rate.”

In the case of electricity, “the new scheme implies an increase of 22.8% in June for the high-income sector; 155.8% for middle-income sectors; and 99% for low-income sectors.”

In the case of gas, “a Level 1 (high) user will pay 9.2% more; a Level 3 (medium) user, 10%; and a Level 2 (low) user, 33%.”

According to sources consulted, bills in Córdoba will come with an increase of 22% in the case of electricity and up to 33% in the case of gas.

Epec launched a campaign to mitigate the impact of increases in electricity on users’ pockets.

This campaign was carried out online and also territorially, with visits to different cities in the province.

In Río Cuarto, for example, a total of 1,000 users showed up per day at different Epec service points to recategorize themselves and pay less for electricity.

The fact is that 4 out of 10 clients of the energy company are poorly categorized and ended up at Level 1, high income, when in reality they are Level 2 or 3, that is, low or medium.

According to reports, there are many gas and electricity users who turn to the Ombudsman’s Office to manage a solution to their concerns.

The Ombudsman’s Office of Río Cuarto is analyzing a proposal to be submitted to the respective authorities, in order to eliminate the national, provincial and local tax burden from the rate, which increases it.

“We want to hold a meeting with our national deputies and senators to propose the reduction of taxes that make the electricity and gas rates more expensive,” the Ombudsman, Ismael Rins, told Puntal yesterday.

He added: “The proposal will be made at the level of gas bills and also at the level of electricity bills.”

“One of the taxes that will be raised is VAT and also Gross Income,” he indicated.

The provincial government, through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, enabled natural gas network connections to two kindergartens and a primary school located in the towns of Saladillo and Colonia Italiana, in the Marcos Juárez department.

Representing the ministry, Rubén Borello, Undersecretary of Gas Infrastructure, was present.

In Saladillo, the “Paula Albarracín” Primary School accessed the network service, a work that benefits the educational community made up of 6 teachers and 20 students.

In addition, the provincial official supervised the end of the work corresponding to the second stage of home connections that reaches 31 users and 124 inhabitants.

Borello was accompanied by local mayor Luis Tubaro, legislator Carlos Carignano and members of the Marcos Juárez Regional Community.
