MR. PRINCIPAL:
The moment the suspension of school classes is reported (regardless of the reason), the mothers of those children immediately sigh and begin to calculate who will take care of them, how they will notify their boss, how they will work remotely and care at the same time.
It seems crucial that we begin to normalize that the news of suspension of school classes comes associated with a concrete action on the part of organizations, so that that care measure is a solution and not a problem for fathers and, especially, mothers.
The suspension of school classes is an important source of anguish for those women who work and count on the educational institution as a space for care. It would be interesting to explore the possibility that any mother and/or father who has a child in this situation can change days, recover hours or another alternative, in short, that she does not have to choose between caring or working.
