So far there are 179,800 affected and 12,350 hectares of crops damaged, which represents direct economic losses worth 1,611 million yuan, according to the provincial flood control office.
Several hydrological stations located on eleven rivers in Fujian reported between Saturday and Sunday accumulations of water from up to 3.65 meters above the alert level.
The province, which has declared the state of emergency due to rain, until Friday it had recorded accumulated rainfall that exceeded 100 millimeters in 386 municipalities in 55 areas at the county level.
Meanwhile, in the southern province of Guangxi, the rains have caused overflow of 22 rivers and the Hezhou hydrological station on the Hejiang River reported the largest flood in ten years.
Among the hardest hit cities are Hechi, Liuzhou, Yulin, Hezhou and Baise, according to the regional hydrology center, with accumulations of up to 140 millimeters in a single day in some of them.
It is foreseeable that the situation will not improve in the coming days, since the Ministry of Water Resources and the National Meteorological Administration issued paths late this Sunday orange alerts due to rains and torrents in almost the entire country, especially in eastern, central and southern provinces such as Canton, Sichuan or Yunnan, among others.
Heavy rainfall is expected in the next 24 hours. storms that could leave accumulations of more than 70 millimeters per hour, in addition to lightning, thunder and intense winds, warned the authorities, who asked local governments to take extreme precautionary measures.
