The sensitive news comes just hours after the Puerto Rican artist published a video of a group of dancers auditioning for the second leg of his Back to Reggaetón tour.

“The most special thing about today’s auditions is seeing that there are people who want to dare to dream with me,” he said. “Thank you to each of you who gave everything on the court! This second stage of the tour comes with everything.”

The “Pobre diabla” singer, who made his long-awaited return with the 2023 album Forever King, began the tour in the spring with a 20-date series that kicked off on March 7 and concluded at the Kaseya Center in Miami on April 21. In the middle of the tour produced by CMN, the Puerto Rican artist added 18 more dates.

The second leg of the Back to Reggaetón tour would begin on August 7 in Oakland, California, and includes stops in cities such as San Diego; Portland; Tampa, FL; and Ontario, California, before concluding at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on September 15.

Don Omar’s comeback tour, which marks his first tour as a headliner in a decade and his first since his Kingdom Tour with Daddy Yankee in 2015, has grossed $17.8 million and sold 146,000 tickets in its first 14 shows ( until April 7), according to Billboard Boxscore figures.
