The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Basque Parliament, where the future Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, will also participate. The signing comes after this Monday the National Assembly of the PNV and the PSE-EE militancy approved the agreement to govern Euskadi.

The top leaders of the PNV, Andoni Ortuzar, and from the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, will sign this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Basque Parliament the agreement to reissue the Basque coalition Government. The PNV candidate for lehendakari will also participate in the event, Imanol Pradales.

The signing comes after this Monday the National Assembly of the PNV and the PSE-EE militancy approved the agreement for both parties to govern Euskadi again for the next four years.

In any case The agreement will not be fully known until Thursdaywhen it is announced coinciding with the full investiture in which Pradales will be appointed lehendakari thanks to the absolute majority enjoyed by the two partners.

This Monday Imanol Pradales, PNV candidate for lehendakari, already stated upon his arrival at the PNV General Assembly that “everything is going well” in the negotiations with the PSE-EE to form the next Basque coalition government, although he pointed out that there are still some fringes with the socialists.

The PNV and the PSE-EE have already announced that the 11-page pre-agreement signed on June 10 and titled ‘Bases for the Agreement to advance well-being, progress, self-government and the transformation of a global Euskadi’, includes principles and objectives of the next Basque Government.

Two candidates for lehendakari

The Lehendakari’s investiture plenary session will be held on Thursday in the Basque Parliament. Imanol Pradales will be sworn in as Lehendakariwithout the need for a second vote, as PNV and PSE have an absolute majority (39), but Pello Otxandiano will also present his candidacy, on behalf of EH Bildu.

Otxandiano explained that the reason for presenting his candidacy is to express that the “national transformation” of Euskadi has been set as a goal to move towards a new political status and form an “innovative and feminist” governability.
