Argentine Energy (Enarsa) and YPFB They agreed on the provision of natural gas for northern Argentina in the months of August and September. The supply will allow the central and northern areas of the country to be supplied with up to 4 MMm3/day from Bolivia depending on internal demandwhile they finish the reversal project of the Northern Gas Pipeline, currently underway.
The state company Argentine Energy (Enarsa) and the Bolivian state oil company YPFB they signed the ninth addendum to the contract to ensure the supply of natural gas to northern Argentina in the months of August and September. On Sunday the 16th, Enarsa reported, the management of gas supply from Bolivia was completed, adding that it estimates that the project to revert the gas pipeline operated by Transportadora de Gas del Norte (TGN) will be in operations on September 15allowing to bring to the northern provinces 5 MMm3/day additional to the current ones and in a second stage another 4 MMm3/day.
The news spread after the signing between Enarsa and Enap of Chile to reinforce the supply of natural gas also for northern Argentina, importing 128,470,000 cubic meters (m3) of natural gas from Chile that will enter the province of Jump.
Apart from that, Enarsa and the Brazilian oil company Petrobras made official through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed at the end of April, the natural gas exchange. Enarsa and Petrobras seek to finalize a swap of natural gas volumes from Bolivia in exchange for LNG; Therefore, Petrobras would transfer volumes from its contract with YPFB to Enarsa, while the Argentine state company would return those volumes as LNG to be placed in one of the regasification ports in Brazil.
