Meet the startups

In total, 19 projects were presented and in CONNECT We will tell you details about each of the startups.

1. Aqua et terra: reduce consumption in agriculture

Company dedicated to perfecting and developing technologies focused on combat the water crisis and food in Mexico.

Its technology allows reduce water use in agriculture from 3 to 1 liter. They pointed out that they have 3 patents and in Aguascalientes they have helped increase irrigation efficiency by 30 percent.

2. Aquabotics: analysis of waste in water

Firm dedicated to the analysis and real-time water sampling in order to carry out a sweep of the water quality to help companies know if their waste comply with the Mexican official standards.

Because current methods are slow and expensive, they propose a dynamic environmental monitoring that can take water analysis and promptly detect the danger.

3. Aquantum: project financing

Project designed for the creation and issuance of bonds specifically designed for finance water projects.

What is proposed is develop a platform where anyone can buy a water voucherwhich makes companies have social responsibility and involves society itself, by making it participate it helps to see how water is used.

4. Aquox-Cicy: wastewater treatment

Sewage treatment domestic wastewater through a disruptive technology where the organic matter present in wastewater is transformed into energy and water.

They pointed out that this is a different system for wastewater treatmentsince it removes 95 percent of bacteria.

5. Assetel: detection of leaks in toilets

Low cost device designed for detect non-visible or audible leaks in toiletsavoiding the waste of water in the tanks.

Since in the world 1 in 5 toilets waste watera warning is issued through a device that there is a water leak that cannot be seen or heard.

6. Rain Stone: underground irrigation system

This underground irrigation system By capillarity it optimizes 70 percent of water in agriculture and gardening.

Their entrepreneurs pointed out that they have dedicated more than 20 years of research to develop a underground irrigation system using gravitywhich does not use electricity or pumps, and has a longer useful life than other irrigation systems.

7. ICLO: low-cost chlorinator

Electrochemical system based on graphite electrodes, salt and water, which in a period of an hour and a half generates around 120 ppm chlorine. It is a solution concentrated enough to kill pathogens in poor quality water.

“Our project is water, salt and electricity to generate chlorine, and therefore, drinking water”, they said.

8. CPlantae: wastewater treatment

Offers innovative solutions for sewage treatment through natural systems of low cost and operation.

“We have been dedicating ourselves to the problem of water pollution for 10 years, we do it through a device that uses worms to eliminate contaminants in water residual”

9. Eco Infinito: atmospheric water condenser

The project of atmospheric water condenser for a home brewery aims to generate drinking water from air humidity, ensuring a sustainable and high-quality source for brewing beer.

“Advanced technology is used to get clean and pure water. It absorbs moisture from the air and converts it into high-quality water. said the entrepreneurs.

10. Ecochar: water filters

biochar filters highly economical and effective, designed to protect the family’s gastrointestinal health.

“It is an innovative solution that uses waste from the brewing industry. “Beer bagasse is used to create water filters that help families have clean water.”

11. The Kjajumu Wetland: design of management systems

Project that, through design of comprehensive water management systems For the residential and industrial sector, it guarantees the preservation of the resource and facilitates the circular water use model.

“For 10 years working in the waste water cleaningour approach guarantees clean, available and accessible water for all.”

12. Green print: implementation of vetiver technology

It focuses on nature-based regenerative solutions to address critical environmental problems.

It specializes in the implementation of the vetiver system, a sustainable technology that integrates vetiver grass plants to stabilize soils, capture carbon and improve water management.

“Our challenge is large scale and we need large scale solutions. A particle of carbon in the soil can retain 4 water molecules“With our project for HEINEKEN we seek to work on provision in the service area.”

13. Flow: optimization of consumption in showers

electronic device that optimizes water consumption in showers.

“It uses a distance sensor that turns on the shower only when the user approaches it”

14. GAPY: optimal cultivation with less water

Software, hardware and artificial intelligence platform that allows the community and producers grow the best quality food all year roundpesticide-free, using 95 percent less water.

“It is an innovative solution, a platform that allows producers grow the best quality of food, saving water and throughout the year”, they pointed out.

15. Hydroloop: saving device

It is a hydro-return, a device that saves cold water which is thrown into the shower while we wait for the hot water to come out, returning it to the heater through the cold water tube.

“Incorporate technology that lasts more or less 20 years that with a button can be solve the problem of water waste”.

16. Hydrosafe – Leak Detection

A startup dedicated to efficient water management, with a main focus on detection of invisible leaks in the drinking water network of cities that are located below the surface.

“We believe that we can provide a better world, it is not that there is no water, it is that we do not manage it well, we developed a system capable of make leaks visible and classify them by importance to also manage economic resources.”

17. Industrial water: wastewater reuse

It consists of the development of a technology focused on the reuse of wastewater in the industry.

The main objective of this technology is to allow well water to be treated to become drinking water for human consumption.

“We developed a technology with a system in which treatment of any wastewater“, occupies 20 percent of the area of a traditional plant, we comply with national and international standards,” they pointed out.

18. Solid rain: saving irrigation system

A viable alternative to help solve the water problemit’s a irrigation system It uses and saves a large amount of water, reduces irrigation by 90 percent and can be used on any type of plant and crop.

“Climate change has increased drought, we are a viable alternative in irrigation systems, that is sustainable, scalable, saves water, reduces costs and increases food productivity.”

19. Liquid Life: Cleaning with Dirt Degradation

Focused on the field of cleaningIn this project, high-performance, toxic-free formulations were developed that degrade dirt and grease, allowing for the elimination of rinsing.

“We are based on four pillars: we make a dirt degradation and the fat to biodegrade it, the second is that they are free of toxicity for the user, the third is that they are high performance and the fourth is that we make them rinse-free.”

HEINEKEN Green Challenge

This is a unique initiative driven by HEINEKEN Mexico and incMTY which seeks to bring together Mexican entrepreneurs with innovative projects that identify opportunities and solve socio-environmental problems in Mexico.

In its 2023 edition, it focused on the care, preservation and access to water in communities, and the winning startup was the company Aqua et Terra, which increases water productivity using plot hydrants and high-precision irrigation strategies.

In the 6 years of the HEINEKEN Green Challenge, more than 4 have participated thousand projects with approximately 12 thousand 200 entrepreneursand have accelerated more than 100 projectsof which 19 were presented in this Demo Day.
